due to the many complaints of other fellow deviants, the problem of people asking request when the artist has a "sign" on their profile that states they don't is getting to the point people will 'burst', I have a suggestion to help peoples experience on DA, a status box on the profile added so that deviant users can show that what they are or are not doing certain things. this is not only limited by just the request problem but by other things that the person is doing like collaborations or commissions. it's true people do put this information up in either a separate box widgets, journals or on their ID, but some people either miss, ignore or don't know where to look, this way majority of dA's users will know where to look and help clear up confusion.
if any of this confused anyone please don't be afraid to reply with a question
I apologies I have it pointed out that I was referring to a added widget, but no I mean a box, (lack of better word) on the top bar of a users profile the about me, recent activity, and statistics, I'm sorry for any confusion
thank you for pointing out a flaw in my description, I meant something like the bar on top of the profile where you check your page views, activity and information.
nothing really, this suggestion was just to help the dA staff see why this should be added. there will be people who will ignore things either on purpose or accident, even with this I know people will and might ignore.
So you think people will pay more attention to it cause it's an official feature? Not likely..
Even if it's shown next to llamas or statistics, people will just ignore it anyway. It's a useless feature and people who feel annoyed because of it should grow a pair. They should feel flattered that anyone would like to commission them
Better put it in your ID or at the top/bottom of your journal where it's clearly visible. Hell, I even thank people who tell me not to thank them
I don't see how it'll lessen the frustration, the problem will remain the same as before they'd implement said feature
Hell it might even aggravate the problem cause it's a clear feature that's clearly ignored.
True, but people who care enough to look it up will do so regardless of where it's stated, no? I admit it would be easier if it had a fixed location though.

thank you
