I think some of us have seen the new Beta for 'Premium Content' passing through our mailbox, and I was wondering as to how far one is allowed to sell fanart. I always thought fanart was, in itself, illegal - but only allowed shallowly because most artists don't gain a financial profit out of it. (i.e. You are not allowed to SELL fanart. That they generate views is a more delicate question)
So, my questions are:
- Are you allowed to sell fanart through the Premium Content?
- If no, how will DA catch the bastards that try to do that (or sell any other DA's work for that matter)
- If yes, will the copyright owning companies allow this or is this your OWN responsibility?
I think I already suspect what the answer will be, but I just thought to throw this out
