So, regarding critiques. I have just recently written a critique for a fellow deviant. They accepted the critique as fair and responded in the follow-up conversation area for it. Now, I can understand not being able to request critiques without a premium membership, even if that policy isn't particularly enlightened. But, not being able to participate in the follow-up conversation of a critique that I</b> wrote because I don't have a premium membership? Something is not right here. I think this needs a little fixing.
Maybe, really refine the system.
Allow someone who writes a critique to participate in any follow-up discussion regarding the critique that they took the time to write.
And, if it's at all possible, for every critique written that is deemed fair, grant the person who wrote the critique one critique request.
This looks like it wasn't an intentional restriction. When we opened up Critiques to non-Premium Members, this was an issue we most likely forgot to address. If you've made a Critique, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to reply to the follow up conversation.
I'll pass it along to our team to have the restriction removed. Thanks for pointing out!
I don't think they'll give away free premium memberships... like, ever. Luckily, it isn't impossible to obtain if you either make commissions or save up the pennies. I'd find it frustrating to no longer be able to reply to something I started too but I still don't see dA changing.
If I'm honest, I feel we're lucky enough that it's free to even join.

It's a common suggestion for premium features to be made available to non-paying members. That isn't fair on those who part with hard earned cash for a membership.
