Gallery Info - Easier to Find Please!

Lots of people accidentally misplace their art in the wrong galleries because each gallery's description is found in a somewhat obscure place:

The current method of finding a gallery's description is to go to Submit and click on the "Choose..." button, then the user has to find the category, and then click on the little "Gallery Info" button way at the bottom of this box, which is so well blended into the color scheme of the box that lots of users don't even know it's there. (tl;dr... Right?)

DeviantART, :giggle: why not just hide this information while you're at it?!? (That was sarcasm. Please don't actually hide it any more than you already have!)

:star: There are two ways to handle this: [Visual]

1) Make the gallery info appear when a user mouses over each gallery in the submission process. (This way, they CAN'T miss it!)

2) Make a small "Gallery Info" hover that will display each gallery's description while users browse.

What do you think? Personally, I think dA should do BOTH. Again, please view the visual suggestion if you want to see how this could help.

yeah and they agree to it every time they post on da
and they agreed when they signed up for da, so as far as theft there is no excuse on da
but you maybe right about not knowing
or maybe because that gallery director doesnt check credits
ive seen a few dds using non-stock as stock
but thats her so im not going to expect much

I definitely agree with that. I felt it was an issue a couple of months back, but... eh.

It's a bit naive to think the problem will be 100% solved regardless what dA does about it. But the best way to reduce miscats is to EDUCATE people. Having gallery info on each gallery's browsing pages AND in a more visible place during submission would help.

Part of me thinks it's the whole way it's... done, as well, if you get what I mean?

Perhaps people are finding it difficult to find what they want so the first thing that remotely resembles what they want they go for it sort of thing. :shrug:

Especially with contests. I could go on
for forever but you know exactly what I mean. :P

There are a heck of a lot of them, to be honest. =/

I mean, I browse the galleries sometimes and they're just full of... eh. >.<

I actually came up with this suggestion (making them more visible on the submit page) a while ago [link]

Not that I think that would solve all the miscat problems, but it would really help.
