I like your art but you're not my friend

Every time I go to watch someone new they are automatically ticked as a friend, (thus making them join my friend box) most of the people I add I do so because I like their art, I however can't call them a friend of mine, (I don't know them well enough) so therefore I suggest that when you watch people you have to manually tick the friend box. (the same way as scraps)

When you add someone there are several boxes: Friends, Deviations, Journals & News, Critiques and Scraps, you can tick or untick these boxes, scraps is always unticked by default whereas friends is always ticked by default, since very few people I watch are friends I have to untick them.
My suggestion is to have the friend box unticked by default.

I agree. I've always hated that too. Why add a complete stranger to your friend list? I watch a lot of people, and I get annoyed when I always have to uncheck that box.

I believe that's also another option to have. It's a nice perk for subscribers to display their friends if they want - It's a little like a social network site in some ways, but at the same time, classy and it's not some annoying "top 8!111" system, just a way to recognize friends - Be they IRL friends, people you've gotten to know well, or even people who watch you back.
