There seems to be an increase in the need for a more suitable category to submitt both digital/trad. scrapbooking art and stock/resources.
At the moment I submitt all my digital scrapbooking (stock) designs into the Textures+Misc. category.
And in regards to scrapbooking art work, I submitt that into the digital mixed media misc. section.
Yes, I am aware of the "collage" category, but I just wondered whether there has been any other artists and/or stockists in the community who are coming across this dilema too?
Using the term 'scrapbook' or 'scrap' on dA can be rather confusing as one would instantly think of the Scraps category, which would be for your 'non-gallery' submissions.
I think that Misc is a good place for such things if you believe so, else if all the items in the scrap are of the same general type i.e. still life, then a scrapbook presentation of many still life items should still be fine to put under Still Life.
I agree, I don't know any people (offline) who don't know what scrapbooking is (heh... you should see the whole room in my mother's house dedicated to it), and while I haven't embraced digital scrapbooking as yet, I think that the stock for it as well as creations are specific enough to deign their own category. But I do see how it might get confusing for ppl who aren't familiar with the term, since it's so similar to 'scraps'. 'Keepsake scrapbooking' perhaps? 'Scrapbook album pages'/'scrapbook album stock'? But I don't think the idea of a cat for it should be abandoned because it might confuse some people. I mean, the cats are confusing as are. The problem could be dealt with the same way as current miscats are, if it arose.
It's basically a way to personalise your home photo albums and let out creativity at the same time. There's a huge market for the supplies, and because it's rare to come across someone who doesn't keep snapshot memories, it's quite a successful movement. More of a homey, i-do-it-with-my-mum kind of activity, I think, but lots of fun and showing off your photos is even better than before. Most common is a 12"x12" page with various embellishments (ribbons, tags which I personally can't stand, buttons, etc) themed to whatever occasion's photos are being scrapbooked, along with some journalling so that in 20 years you'll know if it was your son's fifth or sixth birthday when you went to the beach down the coastfor a party with the extended family.
Below we have compiled a list of 101 tips to help you improve your photography. You may know some of them already but were confident that you'll find at least a few gems in there! Go get yourself a cup of coffee and make sure you are sitting comfortably!
