Mine does do this, but not for deviantart links for some reason, and I've been searching the helpdesk and whatnot but I've yet to find myself a solution to why my status bar wont show my URL destinations off of deviantart links.

When MS Paint isn't enough, and you are strapped for cash.
What browser do you use? I was about to answer the same thing than `Tyrin-Claw. It works for me in Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 6 and Opera 6.26 (after activating the display of the status bar). Ensure you don't have an extension or plug-in hijacking this area.

82% of statistics in signatures are made up. (This is a recursive signature...) Spreading them is un-original and sheepish. If you agree, copy this in your... wait, no! No to signature clichés! You are on an art site, be creative!
Yeah, they should already do this, unless you have some funny extension enabled. Any link, including [link]'s a dev/avatar names should display in the status bar. Besides, why would you need to know the link of a dev name? Unless I do something tricky like post my name as `electricjonny
Most likely an addon is blocking it, then...you might try disabling your addons and see if it works right then, and if so try to find out which one. If not then yeah, the Help Desk is your best bet.

If you don't work out why it's not showing in your browser, you can always right-click on the link and click "Properties"...Rather time-consuming though
I have IE 7, and I have discovered that the link DOES show up in my status bar, but only while the mouse is held down after I click the link. I also tested each addon I had in order to figure if that was the problem, but even turning off all of them didnt change anything. I'm guessing it might have to do with the IE version but for now, I'm just going to click and hold the mouse over the link to see where it leads in the status bar, and release the mouse off the link so the browser doesn't go to the undesired link. (Note that this seems to only affect text links on DA for me, not picture links because I can see where those lead in the status bar)
