I've noticed that when I leave deviantART open in another tab, it constantly reloads or updates or whatever you'd like to call it. Bottom line it seems like it is always downloading. This makes it nearly impossible to use the back button because every time it reloads, it acts as if you were visiting that same page over and over. it also makes my computer run slower. I thought perhaps the reason for this was to keep deviations and messages updated, but after sitting on one page for a while and then going to a different page, it shows that i have new messages or deviations to view, so this is obviously not the case. Is there any way you could cut back on how often individual pages update or at least make them update with out having it clog up my back button. I don't know if this is a problem for anyone else, but its been bugging me for several weeks (as it seems to be a recent development). Thanks very much
i guess i should also mention that my computer just had a make over (though this has been a problem since before that) so I am pretty certain there are no more bugs on my computer (I'm using ESET NOD32 Antivirus).
you're right, i'm sitting here watching the page and every time it reloads the ads change. Either way, it still makes it nearly impossible to use the back button on this site. couldn't the ads reload without reloading the entire page?
Giving the high rate of reloading, it might be a bug, I don't see the point of making the ads turnover so fast. Although I don't like doing this (I try to support dA), I must say that when I was no longer subscribed, I had to install AdBlock Plus, because otherwise, having always a dozen or more tabs on dA, the memory use of Firefox was going through the roof.

82% of statistics in signatures are made up. (This is a recursive signature...) Spreading them is un-original and sheepish. If you agree, copy this in your... wait, no! No to signature clichés! You are on an art site, be creative!
FF2's memory usage still goes through the roof with a sub AND Adblock Plus running for me. I blame it on too much JavaScript. The problem escalates when you have the scripts loaded in every single dA tab, with no opportunity to share common code between them.
Thanks very much
