It is often suggested and I suppose if it was easy, they would have done it already. It would need a custom (or existing?) graphics library handling correctly PNG format including transparency. Not trivial to make and to integrate. We can only wait and expect.

82% of statistics in signatures are made up. (This is a recursive signature...) Spreading them is un-original and sheepish. If you agree, copy this in your... wait, no! No to signature clichés! You are on an art site, be creative!
I am pretty sure they know it is broken... The problem is around for quite some time...

I agree that this is a problem that would be nice to see fixed. In the meantime though, you could just insert a background to your work that's the same color as dA's background and just save that separate from the original work. Then you'd get the presentation you're looking for without the thumb issue.

The above post is a lie. However the cake is real, and very delicious and moist!
I've thought about making a duplicate drawing with a background for showing, but there are several problems for me in doing that... first of all, the people who download my drawings for their signature tags have to have the transparent background so that would require me to have double files on my computer, one with background and one without and then do double uploads, one for viewing and one for downloading which could get more confusing for people downloading my drawings... Not to mention having to create the 2 files in the first place...
It's a hassle I really don't want to have to do...
I would love to see that problem corrected :-p Cheers !
