"freeze" subscription? (I'm not sure if it's suggested before..)

hey there, dA. I have a suggestion here. why not make an option for subscribers to freeze their subscription, for example if they would travel for a long period of time, or will not have an internet connection for a long time? I do understand that people will try ti misuse a feature like that, that's why it may be made so you can't freeze a subscription for less than two weeks, or something like that.

what do you think about this?

(oh, and I apologize if this is a dead horse, I don't spend a lot of time in here)

I saw this same suggeston a while back already, but I'll agree with it once more.
And in response to what =Cryoma just said, well, to counter abuse like this the "freeze sub" trigger could/should only be accessible once a month (or has a 1 month "cooldown"), and will be active for at least 1 week. (Arbitrary dates of course, the best system has yet to be decided).

Hrm, well from an economics standpoint it isn't very reasonable. I don't know any other site that lets you do this. And, I can't picture asking a magazine subscription to freeze for me...

I think people would freeze their acount as often as possible, save their subscription... Well, the tight asses anyway.

That's a great idea. :3 Maybe if people could only freeze their subscription a limited number of times, like maybe twice a month at most or something. Else some would just do it whenever they logged off.

see, I'm one of the people who don't live in the US and have a low-value currency, so those three months cost about 50 or so. also, I don't have a credit card (my sub was donated to me) so I'm seeing this sub as.. MY PRECIOUSSSS....

yeah, that's a good point too. some will definitely try to abuse the system, but if it was made like so, it wouldn't be very easy.
