As some of you may already be aware we have been plagued by a lot of "File not found" errors over the past month. In a nutshell this bug affects deviations which have downloadable files only, uploaded between 2004 and 2005. Over the past weeks we have been investigating the causes for this as well as looking for backups to these pieces.
So here is the scoop, we have some backups that will be loaded the next time our System Administrator goes down to the hosting location of our servers, which should be real soon. However it should be noted we're not sure at this time whether or not we will be able to recover all or only some of these files. Once all backups are in place we will have a better idea whether or not all the deviations can be salvaged.
While such data losses are annoying and inconvenient, they can happen at anytime, even on your own computer, which is why it is important to always make backups of your works to disc regularly. We would also like to remind users such is also stated in our Terms of Service"deviantART shall have no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any Content maintained on the Service and you are solely responsible for creating back-ups of Your Content."

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
