Bug Juice Volume #38 - Weekly Bug Listing

We hope that this listing is as complete as possible, however sometimes bugs can occur after a 'Bug Juice' issue has been posted. In such cases these bugs will be posted to the Status Forum in separate postings. If you do not find the bug you experience listed there, please contact the Help Desk. If you have any questions concerning a bug listed above, please also feel free to contact us at the Help Desk.

Introduction

Welcome to Bug Juice Volume Thirty-Eight, the second weekly article delivered to you by the Help Desk Team.

This article is meant to serve as the current bug listing for users for issues on the main site, prints bugs will not be noted here. Bug Juice articles will repeat the bugs weekly until each issue is resolved and any new ones will be added when they arise, when an issue is resolved the bug will be crossed off and phased out of the listing the following week.

System

Now before we get started to help you better understand some of the Status Terms that will be used throughout this article we have compiled a listing of descriptions below.

Acknowledged - This means a case has been acknowledged as being present and will be worked on soon, but is not a high priority.

Assigned - This means the case has been assigned to a developer and is in review and will be worked on soon.

Closed - This means a report has been closed, either the issue will be worked on along with another one or the issue was found not to be present anymore or will not be fixed.

Feedback - This Status means a developer has requested further information from the administrator who filed the report before they can continue working on the issue.

New - This is a new report and has not been assigned to a developer yet.

Resolved - This issue has recently been resolved.

The List

Assigned

1.) Inaccurate Deviation View or Favourites Counts - For some users their deviation view counts or favourites report counts in the millions or thousands.

2.) Deviation Editing Issues - Some users report not being able to edit their deviations.

3.) devWATCH Dropping Users - For some users with long listings the devWATCH is dropping users off of it.

4.) Search Issues - Search results sometimes fall days behind, disrupting search results and front page 'Newest' slots.

5.) Submission Issues - The option to submit .TIFF files at this time is not possible as it results in a corrupt file error, despite the file not being corrupt.

6.) Lit. Preview Issues - Users are experiencing issues with the preview system when pieces are over 64kb in size.

7.) deviation Maintenance Glitch - Maintenance done on July 27th and 28th caused some deviations to become unavailable when visiting their URL. This same bug can cause your recent deviations panel to display only 3 deviations. (Please see: [link] for further details)

8.) Note Issues - Please click here for more details.

9.) Various Message Centre Issues - Please refer to the 'Closed' section below.

Closed

1.) Non Latin Char Issues - Non Support causing issues all over. ( Will be fixed as soon as we switch to UTF-8 )

2.) Front Page Lag, not Updating as Often as it Should - Most users report this after having used the customize feature, however it is unrelated. This will often correct on it's own, only to return a few days later. ( Will be fixed along with another issue )

3.) Various Message Centre Issues - Message counters are inaccurate. Messages will not display. Messages or Deviations often vanish to come back later on. ( Will be fixed in the new MSG Centre version; Expected launch time of 30 days)

4.) Downloadable Files from 2003-2004 Missing - You can read more by clicking here.

5.) The letter P and Issues with P - Typing ';P results in an emote instead of plain text. ( Will be fixed as soon as we switch to UTF-8 )

Resolved

1.) Avatar & Lit. Tag Issues - Users are reporting difficulty in uploading new avatars and Lit. tags or getting them to stick once uploaded.

Notes: As with any and all fixes, if you still have issues, please try clearing your cache FAQ #643: I was asked to clear my browser's cache. How do I do this? before reporting to the Help Desk that the feature is still working incorrectly.

Q&A

FAQ #722: Why do certain bugs take longer than others to be fixed?

FAQ #723: How come things are not better tested before they are released?

FAQ #724: Why do you put out new features when things are broken?

In Closing

If you see an issue in the listing above you can safely assume that no further reports are needed at this time, unless otherwise noted. :)

We hope that this listing is as complete as possible, however sometimes bugs can occur after a 'Bug Juice' issue has been posted.
