April 15 - Deviant Appreciation Day?

You remember back when... that day someone decided on a deviantART Staff Appreciation Day? And everyone on that day went and commented on Staff and Volunteer's pages saying how they appreciated them and the work they do? Well, that was great... because they do a lot for this site... and I remember I became an @MN shortly after that and was touched by how many of you reached out to the hard working staff members of this community... but... well...

Well... what about all the deviants of this community? There are millions of you and without you this site would be nothing. NOTHING.

This site depends solely upon YOU. Without you, without your art, your community spirit, your forum postings, your journals, your opinions, your fantastic news articles... without you... deviantART wouldn't be deviantART.

I think we should have a Deviant Appreciation Day. A day where everyone in this art community does something to show how much we appreciate everyone else for being here.

What do you think?

Do you have any ideas on how this should work? After all, you are the community, you should be involved in this if this is to happen...

I'm not sure. It's a nice idea and everything, but I don't think it's really necessary. I don't see how it could hurt anything though.

Seems like a good idea. Maybe the day could be celebrated using the Random Deviant feature... you just go and browse through deviants that way, commenting on their deviations and leaving "Happy Deviant Day" comments and such. And maybe people could be invited to create deviations relevant to the spirit of the day, and stuff like that.

Um...besides appreciate other deviants? I'd probably make a journal entry thanking everyone, maybe try and befriend some new people...

It's kind of hard to think of something to do--maybe combine it with something like "dA spirit day" or something? Or just have it as a day where you don't do anything special, it's just on your mind to make you think.

I like your idea of randomly finding other deviants to check out... maybe do it enough times to find 5 artists you really like and make sure you +watch them :) And along the way, encourage others to do the same ;)
