If the earth suddenly stopped spinning...

If the earth stopped spinning suddenly, what would happen to the average 70kg person. How far would they be thrown before hitting the ground, (considering gravity and loss of centrafugal force). I suppose at the equator you would be thrown further.

I was just wondering if centrafugal force at the equator is greater than at the poles, i.e. are you heavier at the poles than the equator?

The earth spins at a few miles per second. I can't remember the exact number, though. I think you'd go pretty far. Plus if I remember my physics correctly, gravity is based at least partially on the earth's rotation, so that could make for some fun.

But gravity would be gone because the earth has stop spinning.

yes slighly less gravity is experanced at the equator... well techinally some of it is negated but centerfugal force

i havent chekced any spelling its most likely all wrong

err... gravity is dependant on the mass of the two bodies in question. the spinning counteracts gravity...
