Is it just me, or does it seem like the rights of some constitute laws that in turn impede the rights of a whole slew of others? This isn't racial, sexist, or anyway hateful. I'm just curious if I'm the only one seeing a redundant circle starting that's going to collapse on itself shortly. See, It really varies from country to country. I am sure that the United States has a different constitution than, say, Zimbabwe.
But yes, I do agree with you. It seems like freedoms are being taken away. I live in the yukon, Canada, and just recently a ban against smoking anywhere in public places is being put into effect (right now bars and restaurants are the only ones under the law, but that will change soon enough). Now I don't smoke, but that is a violation of rights! The freedom of choice. Nobody should be able to say where I smoke, or who smokes where except for the owner of the establishment.
That is just one example of the way things are going.

Who is John Galt?
Exactly one of my points. I actually had a friend lose what was once a high income job at a local applebees because of that rule. even though i had long since quit smoking and i wanna yak at the smell of a cigarette's smoke, i still won't be one of those annoying schmucks i always used to blankly stare at as they would cough like idiots in " protest " to my smoke...
that was a building's length away...
The constitution..while guaranteeing freedoms also implied some basic common sense. Sometimes the communal good is for the better. Sometimes, the individual is in the right. It's all about circumstances.....
"like the rights of some constitute laws that in turn impede the rights of a whole slew of others?"
It would be really nice to know what exactly you had in mind when you wrote that. I have no idea how to respond to such an uncertain subject.

Why in the pluperfect hell would you pee on a corpse?!
Yes, it is a case. You've probably seen me post about how the law is NOT applied equally. Especially in civil courts. Too many people seem to want to make up for the mistakes of some of our ancestors by punishing those that live now even if they had nothing to do with the inequities of the past. Or they feel like giving special treatment to those that live now will make up for what happened to their ancestors, even if they never lived through those times.
It's not fair, and I'll say that flat out. It's racism if you are preffered against because of your ancestry, it doesn't matter what it is. It's sexist to be preffered against because of your gender, still doesn't matter what it is.
It bothers me slightly that you are calling them constitute laws. Constitutional laws would make me more comfortable. Don't know why.. I"m just a grammar freak. And reading back over it you wrote the same exact thing twice.. I see another redundant circle forming....

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
