Ok, picture this. It's about person A and person B:
"A" has a gun. He has it for safety, and has never used it. It is filled with three bullets.
"B" asks if he can borrow the gun. "A" says yes.
"B" kills a guy with it, and is convicted for murder. He gets the death penalty.
Well tehn the guilt of not asking what he wanted it for, and for being stupid enough to lend it to someone and even stupiditer for getting one in the first place.
Well, I think that depends if A knew what B was going to do with the gun. For example, if B told A that B was going to uh...get the gun repaired for A and A consented, then I don't think that A should be held responsible for the death since A knew nothing of what B was going to do. Otherwise, if it is evident that A knew that B was going to murder someone when B asked for the gun, A should take some blame as well, unless B used force to take the gun from A.....did that make any sense? @_@
If nobody have guns, you wouldn't need a gun for safety. It's kind of a vicious circle. In the UK no-one owns guns (except a minority such as farmers, people who do it for sport etc.), so you don't need a gun to protect yourself.
A shouldn't be punished though, unless he had some idea of what B's intentions were (why would someone just ask to borrow a gun? You would question them surely). It was B who commited the act.
