Tattoo question

:iconmystery-kitty:

I was just wondering about UV tattoos. I've looked online and spoken to some tattoo artists but so far the results aren't promising.

Does anyone here have them or know of someone who has them? What do you guys think about them? Do you think you'd have one done?

I think it's interesting, but for now, the results aren't promising. Once I am confident about it, I might consider getting a UV tattoo but now, I stick to the classic black ink.

I know one person with a UV tattoo that I can barely see under a blacklight really. Since UV ink is relatively new I'm still concerned about its biocompatibility and I'm wary of getting one despite really kind of liking them.

I appreciate the good tattoo art but would not like to have one myself. I know I would get tired of it soon after having it made

I hope you don't have a "Tramp Stamp" on your lower back. I would be sad but understand why you are defensive.

I don't have a tramp stamp at all. I just don't like judgmental people, that's all. It's not about being defensive - it's about speaking my mind.

Art does not make people look better. Hang it on the wall.

I think they can be cool if done right, like adding a little extra to a black ink piece, but over all its just a fad and they will probably fad from popularity

I guess you could really see them if you went "glow bowling" where the have all the pins painted in UV paint. Other than that when would you see them? But on the bright side if you change your mind later you won't have to have them removed. I wish I had done that instead of getting a normal tat.

I wouldn't get one. I mean, how often are you under Ultraviolet lighting that will make it more visible/standout? Sunbeds don't count! Personally I think they're a waste. If I get a tattoo it's because I want it to be impressive for me and I want it to permenantly look as good as it can, not rely on certain circumstances that give it a different look, sort of. And I myself wouldn't get a tattoo to show off or anything, it would be for my own viewing pleasure.

I suppose there are some advantages to them, though. If you don't want it to be visible (or less visible) then don't enter UV lit places! xD

There are some cases in which a tattoo can save a life. One person I know was born with the organs on the opposite side of the body where they are supposed to be. He has a tattoo that says it just in case he ends up in the emergency room. In this case he got it to be sure he did not get screwed up

But yes, They are too mainstream today and some of them wonderful pieces of art, still, no, I like my body as it was born

I almost got a tattoo on my neck a few months ago, but the tattooist refused to do it because I was 21, he told me a story and gave some examples why I shouldn't get it so early, because of how visible tattoos can taint others impression on you, especially when going for a job.

But I personally don't care if they are mainstream or whether they are what others have/would get, I was getting it for myself and not for others to see (though obviously being on my neck I wouldn't be able to hide it too well), but I do agree that they are very mainstream and many people don't put enough thought in to getting a tattoo or even consider what bad things can come of them. :/

And yeah, that is probably the best reason to get a tattoo, what you mention.

On the neck... Gosh, according to some people that hurts as fuck.

My cousin has on the neck, the chest, the face, the back, both arms..., and yes, he gets funny looks. He is lucky and involved in the music industry were nobody cares, but hell, he can not walk around and avoid the looks. The ladies grab their purses if he is around. The judging is always there

It's silly, really. No one likes to be judged when there's no actual proof behind the judgement, yet so many people do it.

Tattoos don't automatically make you some sort of thug. But I suppose it's like fighting a losing battle to get them to change their meaningless judgements that have nothing to back them up. :(
