Is buying jewelry from Etsy worth it?

Creativegirl91's avatar
I am thinking about purchasing a piece of jewelry from the Etsy website. However I do not know if Etsy is even worth it. Is Etsy a customer friendly, good site to use. Are the products good? I just want to hear what some people have to say about Etsy. If you could let me know I would really appreciate it, thank you.

They're all made by different people. So you have to know what you're looking for and if the price they're asking is worth it for the quality of the piece you're going to get. What are you looking at?

I can not tell you what I am looking for my darling. You will found out soon enough but not today. ;) Let's just say I am looking at all of my options before I buy anything.

Etsy is pretty easy to use. The quality of an item, customer service, etc, depend on each individual seller, but I've never had any bad experiences there. Check reviews and use common sense.

From my experience, products on Etsey are always very interesting and peculiar, and they always also seem expensive... So it depends what you buy.

I like Etsy a lot, and a lot of the sellers provide really high quality work. But it's also true that I generally only buy from people with a large number of positive reviews and a small to none number of negative ones. It's kind of like with any online market - you just have to do your research.

I'm not too familiar with Etsy, I know what it is but I've never ordered from there. Just be sure to check up on who you are buying the product from. I imagine there are ratings and possibly reviews about sellers, so check those out to be sure you know what you're buying from whom.

Look at me, being all fancy and using "whom" :iconlikeasirplz:

Not if it's silly jewellery.

Are the products good? What an odd question to ask about a site filled with tens of thousands of crafters, each selling their own individual items. If you like what a piece of jewelry looks like and you feel the price is worth the item, then buy it. That pretty much goes for all things. I've never had to return anything I've bought from an Etsy seller.

I've had good experiences from Etsy. :) I've gotten sexy cowboy hot mitts for my kitchen, Heat and Snow Miser earrings for Christmas, and a whole slew of other cute and unique doodads. They've also got a relatively decent vintage selection. :)

I buy stuff from Etsy all the time. The stuff on there is generally handmade by different artisans, so of course, quality may vary depending on the crafter's skills. But in the end, it all depends on what you want. Do you feel like buying that piece of jewelry will be worth it? If you don't love it, don't buy it. :P

This site is not as good as eBay. The stuff I looked at all look like some cheap trinkets. Where is the handmade stuff? It all looks like wholesale stuff people buy from China and resale as home made. What a crock.

I have bought several things from there. No complaints.

I bought a crocheted star wars hat from Etsy. It is AWESOME. It's definately one of a kind, and the service is usually very good because the business exchanges are more personal. The really great products are usually much more expensive though.

From what I've heard, Etsy is like deviantART slash eBay. I believe it's safe and customer friendly.
