I just now went to the website and signed up free, instantly. I can look for a way to send invites, but it looks like you can immediately join up now.
You can sign up for free yet you cannot upload any item of yours without an invite by another player.
I see. I guess I am also in the need of invites. 
I looked, and I don't have any, I'm sorry.
