WoW! Good to hear that! Is Allington Quarry in Kent still the largest waste-to-energy plant? Because based on my research currently it sorts 500,000 tons of households waste per year into 65,000 tons of recycling and rubbish than can be converted into energy. And as a matter of fact each year Allington Quarry creates enough power for 120,000 homes.
Yes it’s TRUE! While having my tour in UK, I saw 13 waste-to-energy plants but this number is increasing all the time as the UK is forecast to run out of landfill space by 2020.
