What is it with this "My little ponies" and "bronies"?

I have seen men and women in their 20s & 30s posting about these shows around the net who are avid watchers...

Am I missing something here?

:iconconfusedplz:

Also, The men don't seem to be gay

Yeah, it's kind of weird and not really my thing, but if people enjoy it more power to them. People should be able to like whatever they like without scrutiny from others. Besides, I've found myself liking enough weird things that I can't really judge.

All bronies are furries. All furries are gay. Therefore, all bronies are gay.
A(x)(b(x)->f(x)) & A(y)(f(y)->g(y)) |= A(z)(b(z)->g(z)).
See? :D

It's not math, it's first-order logic. Also, I wasn't able to find an inverted 'A' for the universal quantifier.

I haven't yet met any grown-up men, who would genuinely enjoy this show. However, I have met:
1) Hipsters, who claim to enjoy the show, so that everyone knows, how "open-minded" they are.
2) Hipsters, who claim to enjoy the show "ironically."
3) Hipsters, who try to watch MLP just because all other hipsters do it.
4) Furries, who would watch any cartoon with anthropomorphic animals in it.
5) Trolls, who post MLP-themed pictures all over the place and then tell everyone else to "love and tolerate" them.
6) "Businessmen", who don't watch the show, but keep creating and selling overpriced fanart to gain popularity and profit.
So yeah...

They're the kind of gays who don't realize it until they're in their late 30s with two children and a wife.

Let live and let it be.

Though I would have a problem if my future boyfriend takes a liking to MLP. It'd be a deal breaker, for sure.

I think a lot of "bronyism" is just seen as the "cool kids club" of the Internet and it's really nothing but a massive circlejerk/fad, going way beyond just happening to like a kids show.

It's just all those sad kids that Santa never gave a pony to, and now they all gots like fucking pony issues or what not, like some sad sort of metal disorder that stems from not getting a pony.

Can it be any worse than transformers or Hot Wheels? And better than parading their little 5 yr old girls around at beauty pageants. Those women are truly obsessed.

Just mind your business. We've become a society consumed with what other people are doing and liking and whether it matches up to our idea of what they should be doing and liking.

Now for the thumbs! [link]

Anyway, Rule 34 applies to, well, everything. My Little Pony just happened to gain a male fanbase thanks to 4chan, which probably makes not-so-pony everyday people think it must be for their sexual attraction to cartoon horses. At least the show, while definitely made for girls, still has this "for everyone" Disney-like appeal about it.

Watching a cartoon is not an indication of anyone's sexuality.

You should go outside and talk to people in real life so that you learn not to rely on stereotypes.

Some simple kids cartoon that some adults ended up liking and they decided to make one big club out of it, with the men being "bronies" and I guess the women are "pegasisters." Or something. I don't know. Tried the show myself, hated every second of it, so I don't see the appeal that these people appear to see.

I don't see how them being gay would really affect their enjoyment of the show. Gay or straight, man or woman, I find it equally disturbing that any adult practically worships cartoon horse ass with such fervor as some of these people do.
