Hmm. Well I believe that is depends on the person. I personally like to customise my profile and journal skins. Also dA introduced this new tool "more like this" I guess it's also a reason for people who likes to browse art a lot to consider getting a premium membership. Even before i volunteered for dA i used to get subscription just to customise my profile. Hope that helped!
Theyre nice, and truthfully, if I had the cash I would take dA up on that two for one offer, but truth is other than Journal skins and other things to make your profile look all pretty-like, theyre not really useful. You can have some fun with the poll option though and the multiple deviation viewing thing, but other than that, theres nothing else.

I really like it, I wouldn't be annoyed if I didn't but I quite enjoy not having advierts/seeing LOADS of art and having pretty journals/pages. Buuut I need to actually make a portfolio/blog so I'll probably just not get another one. ( but they're so pretty...hmph! My to do list is too long D: )
I want a premium membership because it allows me to feature my art in a better looking way on my page, I can see average of pageviews and I can put thumbs in the descriptions of my deviations. That, and my name looks better with the star next to it.
It generally makes my page look one step more "professional", sorta
It's not all that great, but it's definitely better than not having a premium membership. It could be just psychological though. I don't like that "needs a subscription!" reminder when I am not subscribed. It just sucks.
If you spend heaps of time on this site then yes. You will find dA much more "tolerable" with one. There are no ads for starters (sure there is adblock for that, but still) except for special promotional ones that dA expects all artists might be interested in, which is fair enough. But never any third-party ads advertising crap that's irrelevant to dA
You get to browse more thumbnails per-page. Up to 120 at once, which I have gotten so used to that I can't stand looking through dA when logged out. There's journal CSS if you want to personalize your page (I used that for ages, but mine kept going all buggy with every update dA did, so I got rid of it) but you can customise other aspects of your page too I think and add features regular members can't, or only get in limited amounts.
Also, sometimes dA has "secret" sales and offers that are only ever advertised to those with premium memberships already In fact they just finished having a 40% discount for all prints sale which was only for premium members
Well I do lurk around dA all day and I will admit that having more thumbnails would be nice. I actually don't notice the ads (lucky I guess)? I think it would be nice to make my page prettier, I can imagine spending a week tweeking everything Sales may be nice, I have never bought anything on this site.
Well, my premium expired yesterday. I'll have to admit that my page does look a bit...bland now, but it's nothing else has changed much. I'll probably get it again because I like flashy pages, but meh, the site's perfectly usable without premium features
