Do the 2000s feel retro to you yet?
I don't think they really feel old, but very 2000s do have a dated nostalic. Nonetheless I think 1998 to Present is still pretty modern.

Every other generation has a dress style, a musical sound, or some sort of cultural/artisitc masterpieces.

I didn't find out about Bronies until 2011 so I don't associate them with the 2000s. And the 2000s did have it's dress style and musical sound. Those stupid baggy pants for example >.<

The way I group it is..18 to 24 years ago, is old school, 25 to 74 years is Retro.. 75 and above is antique.. Ancient is like thousands

It's gonna be so different by the year 2100.. Just like the year 1901 is so different that 2000. Everything we consider modern now, will be some fascinating antique.

My old XBox is still hooked up. I still use my Game Boy Color on occasion. Windows 98 SE is the best OS ever, and 90% of my PC games won't run on anything newer than it. Microsoft Office 97 was great.
I used to be very tech savvy, a near-prodigy, the one everyone went to when they had computer trouble. I could reformat a hard drive and install Windows 98 on it with my eyes closed. In high school, I took (and easily passed) every computer computer class our school had to offer, including one that was exclusive to juniors and seniors while I was just a freshman. Kinda awkward being the only person in the class who wasn't old enough to drive, though. However, I have difficulty adapting to rapid change, and soon after graduation, I found myself almost as stumped about computers as my grandparents.

I still got my Wii hooked up, and play it like everyday... I stopped using my Gamecube when I got my Wii in 2006, because, it's backwards compatible. I still have the Gamecube it's just... not recogniseable anymore!
My PS2 still works, but I have so many missing cables I don't bother hooking it up..

When I moved out, my mother kept the Wii, the GameCube, the Genesis, and the NES. I took the XBox 360, the old XBox, and both PS2s. I think one of the PS2s still works, but so far, I've been too lazy to hook them up to find out which one it is. I know what the problem is, too: it can't spin the disk fast enough to read it. Not that it matters much; if it turns out neither of them works, I can still get one brand-new. Can you believe Sony is still making them? To get a little perspective on how long it's been, the PS4 is coming out sometime within the next year or two.
The stupid thing is how Nintendo and Sony are making consoles that AREN'T backwards compatible. My brother's PS3 can't play PS2 or PS1 games, thus FORCING you to repurchase them via download. The DSi can't play GBA games like the DS Lite can, I dunno bout the 3DS, which I'm getting for Christmas ._.
You can only go so far back with backwards compatibility. It wouldn't make much sense for Nintendo to add a cartridge slot for N64 games now, especially since it would mean being compatible with the dreaded Superman 64. Gotta let go of the past sometime, I guess. To be fair, redownloading onto the Wii is not expensive. Most games are about $5.
I never did understand the PS3's strange method of backwards compatibility, though. Some were not compatible at all, while others were only compatible with PS1 games. Just another reason why I was never interested in getting a PS3.
Oh, there is one thing I do find retro about the 2000s. It was the last time any Star Trek series was on the air. The only channel in the U.S. I know of that ever airs any Trek show nowadays is BBC America, which airs TNG. None of the shows ever air on basic cable anymore. I really wanna see DS9, but that's the least popular with the networks of them all. Last time I saw an episode, it was 3 am on Spike, so I was half-asleep. Not only that, but at that hour, literally every other commercial on that channel was advertising pornographic videos. It doesn't matter how much of a pervert one may be; seeing that many idiots stupidly trying to show off the intimate parts of their skin like that gets old fast.

Well I'm not asking to play N64 games on Wii or anything, but if some PS3s can play PS2 and PS1 games, why can't all? Same goes for DS and Gameboy games. Btw I was playing Superman 64 the other day.. God those controls!

I just found out we've invented or are close to inventing LEDs and "batteries" (not actually batteries, just an analogy) that run on ambient heat - that is, they cool their surroundings as they run, and require no external power source. Those news articles were several months old when I read them.
I'm living in the future, and it's awesome.
