What kinds of things/jobs/etc do you think people take for granted/under appreciate these days?

(I'd have to say....toilet paper is taken for granted ;) Ever been in the woods before?)

Hm, I don't think anyone's brought up clothing as something that's unappreciated...

education. Kids in my current school complain about it but me, I'm happy I have it because in the country where I used to live at, education is pretty expensive :/

Time is also another thing that humans take for granted!

But spiders are good. Spiders have 8 legs. Bugs have 6 legs. 8 is clearly a bigger and better number than 6. Spiders eat bugs. Ergo spiders are awesome.

nature itself. let me just start out by saying passenger pigeon. people think of plants and animals like they are never ending. because of these people more animals are closer to extintion than 100 years ago. they dont realize that once its gone its gone and cant bring it back. thats why i think people take nature for granted. oh and if you dont know what a passenger piegon is look up the story. its pretty sad.

We definately need to take better care of nature. I go camping/fishing sometimes, and I HATE seeing trash everywhere. Its disgusting. People don't care about preserving the beautiful nature we have.

Electricity would be one of those things. It seems like such a common thing and so easy to get used to, but try to imagine yourself in a world without it.

I mean, sure, there are people who wouldn't need it as much, but for someone like me, who sits by his PC all day every day, it would be horrible.

- A mostly-healthy able-body that allows you to live independently.
- Living in a free country that allows you to not only voice your opinion, but radically change your position on an issue when it suits you. (Like my old friend from high school, who was allowed to completely change her pro-life stance and consider abortion when she was in a sticky situation, and then flip right back to holier-than-thou pro-life posts on Facebook, once it was no longer a problem for her.)
- Birth control. We (Americans at least) live in a post-feminist society that has done everything under the sun to give women control over their own lives. We aren't forced into arranged marriages, we can go to college and get jobs to support ourselves, we can have sex with a very small chance of getting pregnant thanks to so many different types of birth control, etc. Women who want to can go to college, get a career, avoid unplanned pregnancies with all different kinds of birth control, and marry a nice guy and have kids when they want to. Yet a shockingly large number of my friends and co-workers have ended up with kids they can't afford and evil baby-daddies, all because of a totally-honest accident, they were totally on the pill, honest, swear.
