Grammar! Is it for you?!

I really enjoy correct grammar and punctuation in stuff I read. I also like correct capitalization and spelling. Do enjoy any of that?

Really, I just get ticked off when people use words like "gr8" or "lol." That is not real to me. I also get irritated when people don't capitalize names or the word "I" or the beginnings of sentences. I also don't like it when people leave comments and messages which are totally lacking in punctuation.

I'm ranting. I'm just wondering if any of you feel the same way.

I used to be more strict, but years or texting and IMs have started to wear me down. I still correct people when they're speaking though.

If a person says "lol" out loud, I openly criticize. I used to be a real grammar nazi, but now, I let most really minor stuff pass. It's just those things bother me when I'm reading comments or something. I just got a cell phone, and I understand the whole shortening stuff thing, but I still don't do it. I'm a purist, at least for now anyway.
