not intentionally trying to spark arguments or whatever, but seriously what is up with furries?
I'm struggling to understand the whole concept of drawing an animal with human characteristics and USUALLY breasts. And when I say I'm struggling to understand the whole concept or drawing an animal with human characteristics basically I mean I'm struggling to understand why people draw animals with boobs and skimpy outfits.
And Y'know, not realistic breasts or anything. The kind that would suffocate you in your sleep. Didn't that happen to some women who had cosmetic surgery to make her breasts larger? anyway, I digress.
Why do the majority (well, it seems) that view furrie art find it fantastic?
Who really thought it was a great idea to put boobs on a cat or dog or whatever?
Do people actually find Furry art a turn on?
Why do people draw animals instead of humans, yknow if they wanted to draw something with huge knockers on it or whatever.
whaaaaat, I just don't understand!?!

ALL of your questions can pretty much be put down to: Different tastes for different people.
Long Answer I mean, you might have sort of gore fetish, and I would think that not only creepy, but quite scary, ahha. (Geriously, gore, no thanks)
I'm not a furry myself, but I draw plenty of anthro characters, and the idea of anthropomorphising animals is certainly not a new one. I mean, think of Animaniacs, and that mink with the boobs. Or even back in the days of the Egyptians. Animal heads, human bodies. It's a popular idea, giving animals human characteristics.
Now, furry porn, probably different for other people too. Some people might have zoophilia tendancies, and some people just might think ears and tails are a cute touch for their sexing. Some might just think that drawing their subjects as if they were anthros makes it somehow less embarassing to draw.
I, personally, have drawn anthro characters before I even knew what the word furry was. I was surrounded BY animals for a start (had cats, dog, hamsters, rabbit... used to live in the countryside), surrounded by cartoons that had animal-people (looney toons, animaniacs, countless others that won't come to me just now), and kids books like Spring Story - Jill Barklem, which has just sodding ADORABLE illustrations in it.
I like to see anthro as more of an innocent/whimsical thing than load of walking vaginas with tails, but hey, other people want to see the latter and that's another different taste.
It can't all be pinned down to one thing (though, I know many will say "It was Disney's Robin Hood's fault." Weirdly enough, I've never seen that film)
This post sums up most of what I was going to say. Except that I am a furry myself.

Simple policy around here, Don't like it; Don't look. Its easy enough to not click. Other than that I think *nekophoenix summed it up pretty well. It's the inernet hon, you are going to find everything turned into porn. The good thing is that not everything is only found in porn form (except of course porn itself).
I don't think I am secretly hot for furrys. and I think it's more a bit confused and worried than uncomfortable, really. Surprisingly I'm not particulary pro hentai either but whatever.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
