Those 00 and beyond kids don't know what they missed. Dang cartoons ain't like it used to be. Friggin Pokemon, Digimon, Ed Edd and Eddy, Doug, Cow and Chicken, Captain Planet, Sailor Moon, the N64, Outlaw Star, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Ronin Warriors, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, etc. Oh my gosh, my childhood may have sucked, but the entertainment back then was much better than the crap available today.
I'm beginning to think I'm the only one under 30 that is capable of looking at the 90's without the huge nostalgia-tinted glasses glued to my face. There's the 90's that people try to pretend is "omg amazing"....and then there's the harsh reality.
Disney movies had a good run in the 90's. But there were plenty of great Disney films BEFORE the 90s, and even a few good ones after the 90s (Lilo and Stitch, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled). If you hadn't noticed, Disney spent a good portion of the 2000s releasing Pixar films. Many of which were great. Monster's Inc, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Up...are you forgetting these? Also Studio Ghibli films are distributed by Disney in many places, don't forget, which had great films come out in the 2000s.
As for the Disney Channel? We didn't get that channel at home when I was small. It was only Fox, PBS, and some news network for a while. But when we finally did, I could never get into those shows. I didn't like them, and they weren't any good to me. I've never really been a fan of anything that's ever come on the Disney Channel.
All of those "amazing" shows (which are actually really terrible) that were released in 1999 are just as much the 2000's kids childhood as it is the 90's (Ed, Edd, and Eddy along with Digimon are two of those I noticed mentioned here). The very late 90s (98/99) bleeds over into the 2000s. It's not like the world magically changed and all of the 90s shows got kicked off the air once it hit 2000. I don't understand why people try to pretend it did.
