There have been a lot of questions about the new interstitial ads which feature a different website in a frame. I should have posted something about them when they went online but I simply forgot. My apology for that one.
These interstitials are really no different that any other interstitial except that instead of a graphic ad, you see the advertisers actual website. You can still continue on to your deviantART destination like normal, or you can click around on the advertising site.
Whatever you wish to do.
I am not sure if we will be keeping these. At this time we are seeing how well they perform over a few months.
If you have any questions (not complaints), then post them here and I will attempt to get back to you.
Maybe enabling some sort of filter per browsing individual would be nice. As my 4 year old neice browses DA. As I'm sure other kids do. It does well with its adult indexing per deviations. Maybe have a similar filter to block certain ads from view, while still allowing others to show. Or would that be too much to ask? As I have found a few ads on DA I find inappropriate for viewing to young children. And in such I blocked them from her view. She likes Care Bears and all that cute stuff heh. I just didnt find selling clothing as a ad was doing sexually, exploiting a womans body for the sale, acceptable for her to see. This is by no means a complaint but more over a concern. And I have no problems with the new marketing scheme, just a concern with some ads that are accepted for viewing. As I would very much like DA to be the best place it possibly can be
These things have been taken into consideration. Because deviantART is a place for individuals above the age of thirteen, it was decided to move forward with our current solution.
I must have missed its age limit somewhere, but thank you for the reply . I still will let her view DA stuff just have to be aware of what shes viewing more on DA. Because as funny as it is there are tons of Care Bear stuff and she goes nuts over them. So for that I can thank you, you keep her happy for hours, just by letting your Care Bears roam around * ... someone help me hehe ... *
That makes more sense now. But I still find them to be obnoxious, and users with slower internet speeds probably don't like them either..

Been here so long,
I think that it's time to move.
The winter's so cold,
summer's over too soon.
So let's pack our bags and
settle down where palm trees grow.
I felt it seemed suspicious that they called the site "Deviant Art" (when across most of dA itself it's called "deviantART"), but I'm glad it's an official ad, and not "intelligent" spyware or anything like that =).
