Ok so in my second year of university (06/07) i developed a brand identity for a clothing company and did 5 different promotional strategies. One of the strategies was a website proposal which i put on DA here [link]
When i went to buy the domain name recently (one which involved the brand name) i noticed that some .co.uk had already been taken..............
so i did a google search which led me to another forum and a specific thread which can be found here [link]
I clicked on the [link] and couldn't believe my eyes!!!
So i did a bit of searching and found it to be this deviant [link] I know this because there are the same pictures on the other profile as are in his DA gallery! Also his names the same and just to add insult to injury HE"D EVEN ADDED IT TO HIS FAVORITES AND I"D SAID THANKS FOR THE FAV!!!!!!
How blatant is that! Absolutely disgraceful! Whatever happened to originality? and to actually buy the domain name......... it's obviously being set up as a company! Well not any more.............
I'm on the case.
It's sad because i loved putting my work on DA...... this only makes me question whether this is actually a good idea!
You made a clothing line for a company? And now the company is ripping you off by uesing it even though you made it for them?? Or... Is it just some guy stealing your art? From uk...
Not sure whether you can get your domain name. Might be worth searching information about trademark law(TM Act 1994) could be starting point. I don't know what are your chances if trademark is not registered and/or there has not been any trade under this name.
Sometimes it might good to get an email or some other evidence from person if they are going to just sell it back to you, not actually using the website to sell goods.
I don't know about this, but recommend you to find out more in internet
If it's any consolation - their site is so slow no one is going to stick around long enough to see your design.
Otherwise - here's the lookup info for their webhost: OrgName: Media Temple, Inc. OrgID: MEDIAT-10 Address: 8520 National Blvd. Address: Building A City: Culver City StateProv: CA PostalCode: 90232 Country: US
Stride clothing is something i made at uni in a branding module from scratch. I'd planned at the end of uni (now) to maybe set it up for real. When i was looking for a domain name i noticed that someone had already used one so i had a look and it was a direct copy of what i'd done a uni a year and a half ago.
FUC*ING BAST*RDS if only I had 4 ropes i would attach one to each of his limbs and then add a horse to the end of each one and tell the horse's to keep walking till his limbs ripped off. sorry, this just annoys me so much, we cant have any freedom you buy something expensive, you make something amazing .it will be stolen due to these little fags! I feel your pain, I had to close my old account due to people ripping, now i dont post that old work anymore.
So sorry to hear of your trouble. I made sure to comment on what would have been a wonderful website. I also report that punk for another rip. Warn everyone, this out of control bastard must be stopped.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
