Good day. I am Cyberweasel89. I have a manga project called "Grimmer Reaper".
As tradition states, Death visits each person individually when they die. However, when examining the bigger picture, it is evident that a single entity could not handle every death across the world. Deaths occur every second around the world, many at the same time as other deaths.
However, once a person has died, their soul lingers in the physical realm, unable to move on until Death has performed a Passing.
So Death will often visit the souls of the departed and offer them a chance to sign The Contract. If they wish to serve Death as one of his Reapers, they may sign The Contract by stabbing themself in the middle with his scythe. If they refuse The Contract, they may break the pole of the scythe in half, and are given the great honor of being Passed by Death himself.
After signing The Contract, the deceased becomes a Reaper. Reapers do not age, and thus are essentially immortal. They can, however, be killed. Reapers are given powers upon signing the Contract. The power a Reaper is given could be something as simple as minor telekinesis to something as complex as manipulation of an element.
These powers are used to combat departed souls that refuse to move on. At times, a departed soul will become upset at their death, and may grow monstrous and invisibly terrorize the Realm of the Living. So Reapers must combat these enraged spirits with their powers and the weapon they choose to wield. They are also given a black leather uniform similar to Death's cloth robe. They can alter this uniform however they see fit, so long as it remains black and the hood remains intact. The Reaper does not have to wear the hood, it just has to be there. Reapers are also put into teams of two for their safety. The Reapers on a team are always the opposite gender of each other.
When Reapers are in the field, they are invisible to living people. If the enraged spirit causes too much destruction before it can be dealt with, a clean-up crew is sent to lessen the damage. The memories of the living people are altered, so that they will remember the destruction as a natural disaster or a terrorist bombing.
Death happens to have the ability to gather Reapers from different time periods, which means several of the Reapers will be from far different cultures. Death can also gather Reapers from any part of the world, making them quite diverse.
When not in the field performing Passings on souls, Reapers live in Home, the extra-dimensional realm where Death makes his Base. Home is populated not only by Reapers but also by demons that take on five very different forms based on five varieties of Demon: Imp, Gremlin, Goblin, Troll, and Ogre. These demons have genders, but males and females look identical to humans, aside from their manner of dress. A running gag in the series is that a Reaper character will assume the Demon they are talking to is male, only to realize that the Demon is dressed like a female. The town of Home resembles a gothic colonial town, but it has all the technological advances of the modern day. However, the only humans one will find in Home are Reapers. Home is not the place people go to when they are Passed.
The story mostly focuses on Tadewi Omaha, a Native American from the Age of Exploration, and Geo Lathrop, a young Irish man from modern day. The story opens with Tadewi being brought in and briefed after signing The Contract. When she is introduced to Geo, she takes an immediate dislike of him because the way he walks and sits (squatting and walking on all fours like a wildcat) is similar to a demon spoken of in her tribe's legends. Although Tadewi and Geo are the first Reapers introduced, the story tells of many different Reaper teams.
I currently have the first three chapters of Grimmer Reaper posted on my DeviantART page in written form. However, I feel the story would be best told as a manga.
Details for the artist position are as follows:
-I would prefer a female artist, but a male artist is okay to. I just tend to get along better with females. -The artist must have a manga style that I feel suits the style of the story. -The artist must be able to draw a diverse array of human figures, sizes, races, and ages. -The artist must be able to shade. I would also prefer the ability to draw realistic folds in clothing, but this is not strictly necessary. -The artist must be able to draw action scenes, which are necessary for the fights. -The artist must be okay with a bit of blood in the fight scenes. -The artist must be willing to draw minor "fanservice". However, this "fanservice" is kept to a minimum and is mostly for plot reasons. For example, Tadewi comes from a tribe of Native Americans that lived on the plains. One of the fashions of that group of Native Americans was for the women to wear open buckskin jackets with nothing on underneath. Tadewi is first introduced wearing such a garment. To her, it is normal, and she does not understand the looks she gets from the people around her. Also, one of the male characters is nude in his first appearance, although nothing is shown. While "Fanservice" may be used when necessary for the development of the characters, full, uncensored nudity will not be allowed in the comic at all. -The artist will get to design the appearance of each character. I will have some suggestions ready based on the character's personality, but the designs will be mostly up to the artist so he or she will feel comfortable drawing them. That is, unless the artist would prefer I design the characters, in which case that is fine with me. -The artist will receive most of the credit for the manga due to performing what I feel is most of the work. -The artist is welcome to suggest plot and characters whenever he or she gets ideas. However, it is perfectly fine if the artist would like no part in the plot of the story. -Whether the manga is in color or not is entirely up to the artist. However, if the artist would prefer it in color, I have a friend who will color it for us. However, I would prefer grayscale as an alternative to color, so I would prefer the artist be able to grayscale. -While I will not be able to pay the artist at first, there will be a time at some point in the future when I will have a steady income and a method to pay the artist. If such a situation arises, I will gladly pay the artist a large portion of my salary in exchange for his or her fine work. -I hope to get the manga published one day. But my goal, really, is just to get this story known. I want to see my ideas come to light.
If you are interested, please post here. If you require more information, please Note me. And please title the Note "Grimmer Reaper".

I'unno if I'm good enough to make this look the awesomeness it probably deserves, but I can try. So if you find yourself without a truly epic artist to draw this for you, feel free to contact me ^_^
that was rather rude of you, you do understand that right? Stories may be created and have similar light but each is his or her own creation. This is different in completion.
