We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. I am thinking of doing a fanfic for the first time!
It will be a fanfic of the new Doctor Who series, and I am looking for character ideas, mainly his temporary partner for this story, or any characters you would like to see in it!
The character can be any gender, race, job, age or even you!
Rules:
1. the character cannot be already existing i.e. an existing anime character like Naruto. But can be inspired by them
2. the character cannot be a time lord for history reasons. (the Doctor is the last one)
3. the character cannot be an existing monster in the series but can be from the species, example 'a' Dalek but not 'the' Dalek.
4. the character CANNOT be the Doctor's 'lover', that's strictly against who he is, a loner.
If you are going to send in a character send it in via the 'send a note' system. And title it as 'fanfic' with the following details of the character, just so I don't have to dig through a load of comments pages.
If you don't want to do this, then leaving the details in a comment would do.

Name : (if the name has any meaning put the meaning down as well, and if has a certain sound to it please put it down as well)
Age : (or how old the person looks if their race has a different aging process and that they look human, and if so put down the age they are if they were human i.e. their race age of 180 years = 18 human years, note: 'years' as in earth years)
Race : (they can be anything! from human to furry to animal to alien, your choice. And if you want, give the race a name!)
Job : (if any, if not put down where they stand in modern society i.e. student, homeless etc.)
Appearance : (what do they look like? put down markings, tattoos, skin colour, clothes, and anything else if they have any unique features)
Personality : (what is their personality? duh!)
Catchphrase : (something you would like you character to say, "speech marks please!")
Relations to the Dr : (how do they relate to the Doctor? are they enemy, friend or neutral? details would be nice.)

I will concern myself with the characters history so you don't need to put it down. You can if you want.
Please note that I may alter your character slightly to fit them into the story.
Prizes:
1st place: If your character gets to be the Doctors temporary partner you win 1st place!
You get: A coloured drawing of your character and an exclusive link in my signature till the end of the year!
2nd place: If your character becomes a major part of the story you win 2nd place!
You get: A line art of your character and have a link to your page in my journal for the next 4 months.
Runner up : If your character becomes a minor part of the story you win the runner up prize!
You get: A link to your page in my journal for the next 2 months.
Deadline: End of May (30/5/08)
You can send in as many as you like!

I already have an idea what the story is about, but I won't mind if you send in suggestions, just don't expect them to be added to the story, if I do I'll give you credit.
