I'm an indie game developer, an IT graduate and hoping to break into gaming industry with my first game project, a religious-educational RPG which combines a lot of elements from many genres, such as Side Scrolling, Trading Card Games, and RPG itself.
The demo of this game is being constructed as we speak. Me and my lead programmer is developing the game engine and concepts. Unfortunately, this game will only be distributed throughout Indonesia, which means there'll be no English version or other languanges for the time being. After the game engine was done I'll release the English patch for the game.
Because this game will be distributed as a freeware, so the production budget will be less or more, a pea. That's why we're rounding-up every help and contribution that we can get.
Contributors will be fully credited for their works. We even planned to add 'Gallery Mode' feature so that every player can enjoy the artworks in the game as well as we do. A profile space with brief explanation will be built for every contributor.
:: The Game :: The game takes place in two timeframes, the present world and the past, ancient world. The story revolves around the Ten Paramitas (Holy Aspects) in Buddhism. Being the descendant from one of the Ten Guardian, our main character will be able to travel through time to restore balance and protect the Holy Aspects from corruption. Through the ancestor's teaching, the main character will be able to call forth entities to help him/her purify every opponent, ranging from gods to demons.
The gameplay is a combination between a platformer, TCG, and RPG. The world and the characters will be rendered in full 2D side-scrolling environments. Players will be using cards to battle enemies. And the RPG concept, which enable the development of the characters, the entangling storyline and non-linear events.

.. Character Design - create and design characters inside the game! .. Level Design - create and design the worlds! .. Creature Design - create and design the bad guys! .. Pixel Artist - create and design beautiful pixels of the game! .. Event Artwork - some artworks will be needed to enhance the events (eg.boss battle), capture the essence of the moment into 2D masterpiece!
Ohhh! This sounds very intriguing to me! I'm not sure my art/design is up-to-par, however... Would you mind glancing over my gallery if it is not a bother? If my work does not suite you, then I would be more than happy to assist in some other way!
