I thought it might be wise to collect tutorials/how-to's/fixes for common problems we're getting on here, just to save a bit of time.

A sticky would be helpful, someone!

:bulletred: I'd suggest adding a couple keywords, or making sure your link includes words applicable, so that people can just do a find on the thread to look for a paricular topic.

:bulletred: This thread isn't for ASKING for help, but for linking up TO help.

:pointr: Your floated elements show outside of their container div, or your div does not stretch behind all of it's content? Try the Clearing a float container without Structual Markup method. [CSS, fix, float, clear]

:pointr: Want to build a 3 column layout? Try one of these many three column layouts. [CSS, layouts, 3 column]

Web design/development:
:pointr: Getting started with AJAX, from the Mozilla Developer's Center - a nice introduction to AJAX.
:pointr: The PHP manual - indispensible.
:pointr: A List Apart - lots of great articles on design, accessibility, usability, etc. For example:
In Search of the Holy Grail - a good guide to creating three column layouts.
Getting Started with AJAX - what it sounds like.
:pointr: CSS Zen Garden's resource guide - lots of links to CSS resources.

Programming
:pointr: The comp.lang.c FAQs - my first stop whenever I have a C problem. If the FAQ list fails to answer your question, ask in the comp.lang.c newsgroup (dA won't let me put news:comp.lang.c in the href, so just imagine that was a link). They don't suffer fools lightly over there, though, so lurk a couple of weeks first to get a feel for how to ask your question.
:pointr: Perl Monks - a Perl community, full of helpful and knowledgeable people.

Validation
:pointr: The W3C Markup Validation Service.
:pointr: The W3C CSS Validation Service.
:pointr: Other QA tools can be found in the W3C QA toolbox.
:pointr: Total Validator, besides (X)HTML validation, also does some accessibility testing and can take screenshots in a number of browsers and e-mail them to you. Great service.
