I've looked into this, adobe just deactivated the activation servers so the owners of the CS2 suit don't need to activate it online! they actually made it available for their CUSTOMERS, not everyone!

maybe you can still download it and use it legally as long as you have a hard copy with a lisence key! it's not legal otherwise!

i read this "CS2 for free"-thing on an official german news-site, so i thought it was legit. :shrug:

they're not alone! lots of sites thought the same thing until adobe popped out and confirmed the CS2 was NOT a giveaway!

I got it the other day. :) Considering I was still using an old copy of Photoshop 7, CS2 is a nice, free upgrade for me. I know it's old, but I don't have the money for a newer version, and I don't do the whole pirating thing like most people.

I thought that this Free CS2 thing was to do with a change in their registration protocall as they just shut down the registration servers so you have to go through a weird method of doing it? not just simply giving it away for free?

Adobers doesn't do that... they work like Apple, slightly update the last version call it something new and charge big bucks for it!
