I got my dual core processor today, slapped it in my machine . . . and I've gotta say that rendering on one core while doing what I want to on the other (surfing, music) without any slowdown at all is really cool. Next, I'm going to see how well I can game and render at the same time.
Well half-true, depending on your 3D program and CPU priority you would render faster if all cores are allocated with priority BUT having said that: true-multi core makes the computer a whole lot more fun. It's nice to not have to wait and do nothing (single core) vs having fun and doing other things while waiting.
