$realitysquared and I are currently reviewing the posting guidelines throughout the forums. We'd like you to help us by giving us feedback and ideas on how you think this forum in particular should be moderated.

Please try to be constructive. Try to avoid talking about how things used to be. We'd like to move forward and this is your chance to influence change.

Whilst we welcome every suggestion, please note not all suggestions will be used and all used suggestions will be tempered into something reasonable and easy to moderate.

Why do we need change? Things are going along fine as they are. There's not much to it really.. lock the stupid threads, ban the idiots.

It's not so much change, it's more streamlining, and further clarification of things.

Can we have some stickies for the politics forum? There are a number of topics that just constantly get repeated on a weekly basis.

For example, Religion versus Science. Enlightening of a debate as it is, we don't need like 4 different threads asking the same general question. It would just be easier as a sticky since people are compelled to keep starting new threads once one heated one falls off the page.

Otherwise, I didn't have any issue with the previous forum conduct guidelines.

I agree.

We may need some sort of guideline for other problems such as repetitious topics, thread necromancy, and the occasional gigantic 1000+ post monster.

Overall though, things are good.

The only problem I see with that would be that the stickies would get pretty huge pretty fast, and not many people want to wade through thousands of posts.

Stickies can always be refreshed. They do it on the other forums.

I would like to see a new category specifically for the "Religious versus Science" debates. I don't see them as so much a political topic.

it's certainly political given the right context.

I think that when they pass laws relating to religion and science, or make rules for kids in schools that may be controversial, it may be political. But, this is only my opinion, but I don't think the arguement Christianity versus Science has much political value.

Same as it's been before. If a thread doesn't present any material for any kind of intelligent discussion (that hasn't been done to death, as *punkerfox has mentioned), then it gets locked. If it turns into a flame-fest, then it gets locked.
