You know, the more and more I think about it...

Judaism is extremely similar to Islam when it comes to killing non-believers, oppressing women, and racism.

They're both Abrahamic religions. So is Christianity. All three are going to have a lot of similarities because they're based on the same ideas. Where they differ is largely in whether or not they believe the Messiah has already come and who the more recent prophets are.

Judaism has remained the truest to the ancient beliefs and rituals and has changed the least, Christianity and Islam have seen some pretty radical changes from their origins. Christianity has even gone as far as to develop hundreds of different denominations that all interpret the bible in different ways.

But all three religions possess almost identical teachings on how to treat non-believers and women. It's just a matter of whether the person in front of you belonging to any given Abrahamic religions holds to those teachings. Some do, some don't

They're all abrahamic religions. Islam and Christian both branched off from Judaism after all.

We should all just use good old human empathy to be good people

Christianity and Islam both branched off from Judaism, so of course the three have a lot of things in common. They share most of the same mythology.

The same can be said for Christianity as well.

True.

I was careful saying Judaism, Islam, and the like because there are Jews, for example, that are repulsed by circumcision, and there are Muslims who despise ISIS.

Basically, the religions are bad, but there are many people in them that are, well, good people.

Ah, I see. Good on you for not generalizing.

Decided to add Christianity into the mix too, because frankly there are too many actual, literal Nazis on these forums (oh scuse me, "National Socialists" smfh) and they use any excuse they can to circlejerk about how Jews and Muslims are subhuman, which then turns into this gross, history-denying, anti-science circle-jerk

If you expand it into criticism of Abrahamic religions though, they lose interest. Can't imagine why!

So, you said, "Good on you for not generalizing," and then you go on to generalize about Christians as though they are all one unified group.
GARDENINGBLOBS's avatar
She didn't. If anything, you are generalizing them by saying they're similar to Nazi's.

Did I?

I didn't say "Christians" I said "Christianity". The tenets of the religion itself are seperate from the people.

In fact, this was pretty clearly laid out. I have no issue with GARDENINGBLOBS because, as they said earlier, they took the time to make the distinction between criticizing Judaism /Islam and criticizing Jews/Muslims.

Christianity is to Christians as Judaism is to Jews and as Islam is to Muslims.

Read the conversation before making an ass out of yourself.

Both are salve morality. Western men are superior to those primitive ideas.
