This live stream was directed at everyone who was questioning the petition, and wanted to know more of course on what the petition was generally about. (multiple guests were also invited into the conversation)
That doesn't mean that you have the right to use them. Fair use is complex and several determining factors are taken into consideration for each individual case. It is important to note that fair use is dealt with case by case, there is no "rule" for fair use.
That does not change the fact that you are using material that is not yours because you lack the ability to make it yourself. Stop ripping people off.
No. Stop using this to whore out your pages. You obviously have no idea how copyright laws work. You have no idea how private businesses operate. Have you even read the terms of service agreement for youtube or any other internet service for that matter? It's clear that you're just talking out of your ass, and are pissed off that someone is calling you out for stealing stuff that doesn't belong to you. So why would I want to join your little circle jerk of uneducated thieves?
And as for Youtube: that place has its flaws and some of their policies are one of them (namely not letting some users reposting their videos after it got false flagged by idiot fanboys or someone with a massive beef with that said person). You want to fight about the fair use, good for it.
And DeviantART's rules have more holes in it like swiss cheese, which is why we so many damn rule breakers up to our necks (the porn freaks, spammers and underage are the WORSE in my honest opinion).
Read law much? There actually is a legal precedent for the use of thumbnails and other examplative objects for reviewing purposes.. Besides that, did you even read the entire petition, or view a sampling of the videos this person has posted?
They don't hide behind it, they're following the law. They have to, lest they be sued. Either follow the law or be shut down. Your petition does nothing to address any of the issues, and misses the point entirely.
YouTube is a private company and they can do what they want. If you don't like it use a different service. DailyMotion is good alternative that is much more lax in enforcing copyright. Tumbler and Facebook do video uploads as well though I would avoid those.
Don't listen to Svataben he is clearly trolling you. I wish you luck with your petition but know that Youtube is in their rights to do these things. YouTube has its' rights to censor what it wants but you too have rights and the petition process is part of those rights. Your petition may not force YouTube to change but it can lead to popular support for a Boycott and people taking their uploads elsewhere. That is the point I was tying to make.
1. I am a woman. 2. I am not trolling. Bluntly disagreeing does not equal trolling. 3. The OP spammed this forum with his petition. 4. The little turd has decided to follow/friend me/whatever, and I guess I'll have to block to get their stupid to go away.
Pro-tip: if you don't understand a situation, shutting the fuck up is a good idea.
