It's no secret that Obama's first term as President has been a bit of a disaster. The economy sucks, partisan divisions are greater than ever before, and it seems like a new lawsuit is being filed against the corruption in Obama's executive branch every single day.
So what does he have to offer if he wins reelection? [link] Obama seems to think that if he wins, suddenly the congressional Republicans will cave to his every demand (which he terms "compromises," just as Jimmy Carter used to). That's not going to happen.
Then what does he really have to offer? What would Obama be able to accomplish for this country if he's given a second term?
I mean, Ryan's plan is basically, stall the economy by introducing austerity and fucking up the already still-anemic customer demand (not to mention millions of people's lives), then not collect taxes. So not only will we have a debt out the wazoo and millions of people who suddenly can't afford to live, we won't have any tax revenues to pay interest with. Brill.
Obama has made two utterances in the past year that, although dubbed by much of the media as gaffes, were not that at all, but truly scary revelations, one more so than the other. The first, "You didn't build that", although frightening, nevertheless revealed something that we already knew about the President.
But the other is truly scary, and much, much more revealing than YDBT. It was his whisper to the Russian president regarding flexibility after the election. There is nothing scarier than a president with too much flexibility, and a second term for this president would be just that. A flexible Barack Obama would, and will, devastate this country.
