A little while ago, Louisiana passed a bill allowing for religious schools to apply for vouchers from the government, thus allowing state funds to fund religious schools. This bill shows a blatant regard for the separation of church and state, but that's not the funny part. You see, it turns out that when a bill says that "religious" schools can apply for vouchers, it can mean, *gasp* other religions besides Christianity!
One Valerie Hodges, a Republican representative, has actually stated "I actually support funding for teaching the fundamentals of America’s Founding Fathers’ religion, which is Christianity, in public schools or private schools. Unfortunately it will not be limited to the Founders’ religion,” Hodges said. “We need to insure that it does not open the door to fund radical Islam schools. There are a thousand Muslim schools that have sprung up recently. I do not support using public funds for teaching Islam anywhere here in Louisiana."
In other words, "When we said religion, we actually mean only Christianity." Now liberal blogs like [link] that I stole this information from can't seem to decide whether to collectively roll their eyes or to laugh their asses off. Silly conservative! You aren't supposed to say what you really think out loud!
Besides thinking that the Founding Fathers were actually Christian rather than Deistic, this bill also ignores the woes of other states who have adopted similar policies such as fly-by-night schools who are more interested in their profit margins than actually providing education. Have fun with your even shittier education, Louisiana! Next time don't break the Constitution you claim to uphold in favor of Conservative dogma!
Christians are so self-centered in their belief that they're their religion is the "truth" and the only way one should worship their god and forget that not only are there other religions out there but that there are other religions who worship the same god they do, like Islam.
Christianity is good. Other religions are bad. If you offend Christianity you will be engulfed in flames. God loves you. The devil wants you dead. Give your money to church. Money is the root of all evil. Sex after marriage. Gay people are wrong and evil. Your body is a sin. Killing is wrong. Going to war is right. All people differing from my views should die. Taxes are a sin. Communists are scum. Socialism is evil. Healthcare is an abomination. I am a Republican Christian. I have spoken. All words against me are wrong. Worship me- no, God as your... um... God.
