oh yess, the day is coming. in the fall it was decriminalized. my friend got pulled over while he was smoking a blunt and all the cop could do was write him a 100$ ticket and take his pot.
once again massachusetts leading the way, first with gay marraige, now with pot. in the future we will all be smoking weed at gay weddings and you will all be thanking this fine little state.
so is massachusetts the place to be right now? i think so.
and will weed be legal in our lifetime? again i think yes. in fact it should be legal where i live very shortly. with coalitions for drug law reform in major universities around the country, it seems the best and brightest of the youth in this country are fed up with these silly archaic traditions.
this particular bill does raise interesting questions. shall we examine further?
"Adults who possess or grow marijuana for personal use, or who engage in the non-profit transfer of cannabis, would not be subject to taxation under the law."
so on the surface it would seem people are going to be allowed to grow their own weed if this happens. they wont be allowed to sell it but that will be near impossible to regulate if growth and possession are completely legal. of course we're only speaking hypothetically at this point, but won't people in MA just grow a lot of weed here and sell it to people in other states? or won't stoners just come here to buy pot in bulk and take it home? could MA turn into some euphoric weed garden of righteousness?
Seriously, even when cannabis was criminalised over here you'd never have gotten fined for 1 joint. Maybe if you were a kid they'd pull you in and call your parents, otherwise they'd just take it off you and slip it down a drain.

The godless Galileans feed our poor in addition to their own.
well it was a blunt, not a joint, which is a little bigger but i see what you mean
they searched him and found more on him
the rule is you can have up to an ounce and all they can do is give you a 100$ fine. i'm sure what your saying still happens to people, but whats important is they can't arrest you anymore as long as you have less than a zip.
But you said that he got pulled over... was he smoking while driving? There's no additional fines or punishments for that? I know it's somewhat different from drunk driving but that is still a little much to swallow.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
