Consider this:
Gun laws forbid people from arming themselves.
Guns laws are a law (duh).
Criminals do not obey the law.
Therefore, gun laws do not apply to criminals.
But they do apply to ordinary people who do obey the law.

Does that make any sense?
Preserve the 2nd ammendment.

Yup. If someone doesn't respect the laws to not steal, murder, or rape, then why would we expect them to disarm themselves. Illegal firearms are a major problem in this country.

What is it, really, that you wish to discuss. This OP is rather vague, and it looks like something that should be posted in a personal journal.

If you don't understand, read it again. I'm just pointing out something a lot of people don't see.

Yep, that's my point exactly. Restriction laws don't work on those who break the law.

The subject is an old subject that has been discussed to death in here from evey angle possible, and there are many angles to approach. Your approach is not so unique, but it lacks depth as to what you really want us to discuss, and from what angle. Why don't you take some time to give your post more clarification? Where are your links that prove and clarify your point? Why should we agree with you without some proof that what you say is more than just personal opinion?

Apart from the fact that this belongs in your journal, to say that laws don't apply to those who choose not to abide by them is just silly. The very point of a law is that there is a punishment for not following it. If someone chooses to speed, they're not exempt from the speed limit, and they're still punishable for the transgression.

I applaud you for making that most valid point  but make an argument with it. Or write your Senator/Assemblyman if your state/city has issues with it.

That same argument could be used to get rid of any law.

"Gun laws do not apply to criminals."

I think you'll find that laws apply to pretty much everyone.
