Huckabee was republican.

So... he dropped out a while ago.

Huckabee dropped out and as far as the race is concerned, is hoping for a VP nod from a candidate (presumably McCain).

I don't know that he officially dropped out, but he is out of the picture. McCain has enough delegates, and there's no way Huckabee can catch up with him. Last I knew though, he was staying in the race because he believes Americans should have a choice when they vote. He's got a philosophical problem with seeing only one name on the ballot - which I do too. I just hope he's not campaigning too hard, since he ran out of money weeks before McCain ran away with it.

Nah he officially conceded on March 4th from what I can tell. Concession speech is on youtube.

As others above have stated, Huckabee dropped out of the Republican presidential primary after the March 4 primaries. His concession speech, where he offers his congratulations and commitment to Sen. McCain, can be read here [link] and viewed here [link] . Since then, Huckabee has helped in campaigning for McCain [link] but interestingly enough, is still getting votes for himself. In Indiana, Huckabee received 10 percent of the vote, and won at least 12 percent North Carolina [link] .
