The govt. of Colombia seized 66 lbs. of Uranium from F.A.R.C. leftist guerillas. This is one of the most important components for a "dirty bomb". Couple this with our open borders and you have a nice recipe for a disaster.

Columbia doesn't border the United States, nor have I ever heard of a FARC operation going into the US. They are a little busy dealing with Bogotá.

Also, from your own article:

An expert on Colombia's cocaine-fueled conflict said rebels of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, do not have the facilities needed to make a bomb with uranium.

Holy shit, how did they get their hands on that?

At any rate, it proves that Uribe's warnings that the FARC was trying to acquire uranium wasn't just fear mongering.

Honestly, I don't know what kind of technology is required to build a dirty bomb, and if the FARC does not possess that kind of technology (which I imagine they don't), who they could sell it to. Does anyone have any info on that?

FARC should be able to build a dirty bomb without much more than a conventional explosive and radioactive material. [link] Dirty bombs are really pretty overrated as weapons. They create a health hazard but aren't the weapons the media has made them out to be. Some even consider them to not be WMD.

you may be able to get 66 mexicans in a meat hauler through the borders, but i want to see you try to get 66 pounds of radioactive materials through the border. y'know, put it on your back when you're hoppin' the fence
