I laugh at religion.
What if the bible was just once a fairy tale story, and some person loved it so much they spread the word and then rumors went around? The rumors then got to the point where the fairy tale was "the word of god" and then people started worshipping this book believing that there's an deity that they can't touch but will protect them?
...Well shit.
What if someone creates a story and someone loved it so much that they spread the word? Not everyone will believe it, but a lot will.
Imagine the religions we could have!!
Rainbowdashism
Ponyism
Animeity
Machinism
Genitalism
Pornographism
Now that I think about it, religion can be made from ANYTHING.

Religion is not limited to "tales". Religion is the experience, maybe actually in the first place. Religion is "practiced".
Ponyism exists as a form of worshipping, and I'm not talking about plain fans, there are actually crazy people who would worship to ponies. There are people who believe that anime nekomimi girls bring them luck on exams if they post them on internet. You won't imagine how many strange things people think up!
Practical effects of Christianity, though, are obviously not limited to "wow, I'm lucky today, is it because I prayed/behaved well?". They affect your inner life, your spirit. That's the result of my experience at it.

It really is based on your faith and trust. If you believe in God, then yeah your going to belong to a religion. If not, you can make up any religion you want.
f*ck you. JUST F*CK YOU! my icon is mocking you DUMBA*S!!
BEGONE!
you begone atheism is moronic
Look at yourself: YOU'RE moronic.
I'm not an atheist anyway.

Religion is sort of a 'glitch' in human thinking. To make sense of things, we tell ourselves stories that line up with the data steaming into our heads. See something that is not explainable with current information? Omg, it must be divine powah! If your story confirms suspicions of other like-minded people, they in turn will propagate it, and add their own interpretations until it becomes twisted into a tabulated mode of thinking. In essence, religion is mythologies twisted with personal aspirations to authority and codified into a list of 'thou shalt not's.
There's a slight difference between Jesus and the Slenderman.
Jesus requires you to be dipped in water.
Slenderman requires you to wander around the forest until you die.
Slenderman requires you to wander around the forest until you die.
There is more than meets the eye. Religion has become nothing more than a self-serving man's way of expressing the darkness in his own hear in the name of God or the scriptures. It was physically impossible for one man to write the entirety of the scriptures, and many of them were scattered and pieced together throughout history. Many stories added up, and many similar stories have been told time and again for centuries from other religions.
In and of itself, it is not evil to have beliefs. Many theologians, however, are comfortable with the idea of an angry and spiteful God. It makes them feel better about their own anger towards others. Specifically gays, other religions, etc. etc.

heart...I really should start proofreading.
I laugh at atheism
I'm not an athiest...
What are you?
I am a human being, just like you.
And how does this affect you? God forbid if some one is religious.
"God forbid"
silly athiest,
But I'm not...
I laugh a reality.
But seriously, though, good point. But people just believe whatever they believe. It can rarely be helped unless they are weak believers.

gosh this is embarrassing
I'm sorry to tell you, there's already a religion based on the Jedi philosophy of Star Wars and it has a pretty high number of strong believers.
That's just sad. I mean, I love Star Wars, but... :/
NOOOOOOOo
