What is weird is determined by what is considered the norm in that particular. What makes a "normal" movie? about 90 minutes of action, adventure and/or romance with a concluding ending. A "weird" movie? I don't know, but what comes to mind are those foreign film student type flicks that just make...no sense whatsoever (to anyone who isn't a pretentious snob who automatically assumes something is fantastic just because its foreign and underground in spite of the fact it clearly is dumb ). What makes a "weird" person? someone who doesn't socialize like most others, someone prone to doing eccentric or unusual acts. Someone you don't see walking around in a T-Shirt and jeans even if they're just shopping for groceries etc. Weird isn't inherently bad, it's just an unexplained deviation from the norm of a certain area. As for cartoons, the weirdest I can think of is probably Invader Zim in regards to their style of humour. But I like that
Interesting would be even more nonsensical since it's about as subjective as you can go. I would call opera and trip-punk interesting, but to other people they may be boring, or even entirely unlistenable.
Still description is pretty important to seeking out what youre gonna read. And whilst blurbs are good. You need to find something to categorise things before you even get to blurbs or youll be going through a quazillion blurbs before you get anywhere.
Btw come watch the screening it starts in 15 minutes [link]
I agree description is important, hence my problem with classifying something as weird: it doesn't tell me anything about it in the slightest. I mean, what does weird music even mean? Unusual instruments or sounds, introduction to a new style, non-mainstream?
