I'd totally have a Mrs. Weasley-type boggart, where it would keep shifting into the corpses of everyone I love. I think the one thing I fear is truly being alone in the world. I've lived parts of my life without many friends, but I've always had a close family. And currently I have some very close friends and a boyfriend, all of whom I love dearly......that boggart would have a lot to work with.
I don't think my worst fears are really tangible. I'm mostly afraid of anyone hurting/killing my friends and family, and slightly afraid of being lonely (like everyone, I don't like the feeling).
The only other thing that I can say I fear without question is an enemy I can't see. I don't like horror movies, chase scenes/levels in video games, etc. I just can't stand knowing that there's a threat I can't see, don't know what it is, or can do nothing about.
And to a minor extent, I'm afraid of extreme violence and gore. But it's more of a dislike/scarring thing that wanting to run from it... things like disembowling, those rats in Dishonored that eat people alive, chainsaw murderers, broken necks, etc.
Oh, I know exactley what you are talking about. I've seen thousends of movies were you have criminals killing people and stuff, and I just like the movies, didn't got scared of them. But once I saw a horror movie (paranormal activity) and it was about a sort of ghost, and that movie scared the shit out of me It was really not cool actually.. But the thing is, I got scared of it because the "evil" thing in the movie was something you couldn't fight or couldn't see. That Idea is crazy and scary...
Yep, that is quite scary too. I'm not so afraid of blood, but I don't like to see people getting tortured, even if it is not real. The thing I really hate the most is when someone knee is getting trapped or shot... don't know why
But I think you fear things that are good to be afraid of
Who said that? Actually, it's a good idea to not think of what you fear the most, unless you want to do something about it. Or if it only would scare you if you saw it in real, and not scare you if you just imagine it, what is the case in most of the people here
If someone stood in front of me and even just asked me to do a simple calculation I would just freeze. Think I've got 'Dyscalculia' or fear of numbers. I once fainted in class as a child when a teacher that I was already scared of made me go up in front of the class to do a long division. I blame him!
Ah a friend of mine has Dyscalculia too, it's really bad for her because there's a rule now that makes all (secondary school) students force to do a calculation test, if they fail they cannot go to the next year. It's an awful rule and so unfair, because there are dozens of student who want to study for something you don't have to calculate with.
And what happened to you in the class is terrible also, standing in front of the class is already bad enough.. No wonder you hate numbers!!
Being boxed in on all sides by tractor trailers on the highway. Maybe throw a school bus into the mix just so that I'd experience multiples types of utter terror at once. Maybe a logger truck with poorly-secured cargo ahead of us, too. A crying baby in the back seat.
And it would be a cold night, potential black ice everywhere. All the other cars speeding.
Also, Massachusetts license plates on the vehicles.
I have to deal with that most weeks it seems. But I hate country roads when the tractors come out of the fields with their spiky arms raised. I keep thinking that they'll suddenly lunge forward and skewer me! I even saw a tractor lose its swinging arm at the back and it swung out into oncoming traffic. The driver managed to stop just in time before a car came along. Fear the tractors on quiet roads, they are the real danger!
eh, a boggart is a creature in "Harry Potter". Maybe it can also be called a "Bogeyman"... Anyway, it's a (fantasy) creature that transforms in the thing you fear the most. So like if spiders scare you the most, then it wil turn in to a spider
Not saying that I'm some fearless stud, but I honestly don't know what I'm afraid of. Is this strange? I however don't think it would be something physical like spiders or other insects or stuff like that, more like something mental, like an idea.
No I understand what you're saying. You probably never had a situation in your life where you were scared... yet Yeah I think for most people in the end the most scary thing is a mental thing, I agree with that
mental illness. I've had panic attacks seeing burning people. Not really certain how the hell a Boggart would manage to carry that one out though. Maybe Slendy? or that birdman painted on that prehistoric cave, the one attacked by a bison.. it gives me the creeps.
