i thought it was quite applicable to all the conversations i wanted to be a part of, actually. i was not meaning to be obnoxious at all. its just the way i see things. so sorry for offending you. i think spam is when one person gets bombarded with multiple messages of the same thing...not when multiple people that are part of my groups and interests and public forums get one message each from me about a particular issue?
fascism - 1: often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition 2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control <early instances="" of="" army="" fascism="" and="" brutality="" —="" j.="" w.="" aldridge=""></early>
This is more of a political topic, but I'll answer it anyway. No, conservatives aren't fascist, any more than libertarians are liberal. In order to believe in fascism, you have to support conservative social policies, but also be opposed to free market capitalism. Maybe your Conservative party is fascist, but then they wouldn't be true conservatives, they'd be right-wing socialists. Some examples of fascists are Neo-cons, the majority of people who aren't white or Asian, and Neo-Nazis/Third Position/etc.
No. Fascism is more than just violence. It is also the removal of classes (rich/poor). I have yet to see a conservative that will promote the removal of the rich and promoting the working class. By definition, a conservative is trying to preserve the status quo.
