"Those who believe in Yhwh paint him as benevolent and absolute, ie, the worst mary sue of all time."
I LOLed when I read that, because I am of the same opinion. In the eyes of Christians, God can do no wrong. Even when it's painfully obvious that he's fucked up somewhere, it okay; he is God. I mean, he kills over two million people in the Bible (and that's not counting the great flood or the tenth plague of Egypt) and everyone's fine with it. On the other hand, Satan only kills, like, ten people! In the whole damn thing! And he's supposed to be the embodiment of evil?
Being biased towards the adversary is pretty normal, character wise there is a lot more to work with. Never heard of Baset until now. Good thing I started this thread with the intention of pooling knowledge.
Skadhi. she showed up at the gates of Asgard dressed in full battle regalia demanding weregild for the murder of her father. the Aesir and Vanir were so impressed (read: shitting their pants) that they let her in and paid her requests.
No sorry, your god wasn't worshiped at the time. Shintoism and Buddhism also outdate Judaism. If you were to look at the Middle East in the same time period the god worshiped by the majority was probably Marduk.
Atheismo the Greatest existed before, The Golden Goddesses of Hyrule took care of the Universe last, then it was the space Goddess Roselina, the Cult of Mormonism and various other minor religions [Minor only because Christianity is doing their best to either exterminate or assimilate them] say that we transcend to godhood, and so on. What can you present to counter my statement that they may have existed in universe past?
No, we're just tired of people thinking that the Judeo-Christian god is perfection and the final solution for all. And the final solution in that he seeks to exterminate all who do not fit in with his designs.
