The problem with human beings as far as I see it.

People are varied in their age, appearance, upbringing, politics, beliefs, etc. But when different groups clash, a common tactic of those in the highest ranks of those groups is to dehumanize their opposition. This has been true for centuries. Catholics have accused the Jewish people, Muslims, and protestants of being the embodiment of the Anti-Christ, and protestants have accused the Pope of being the same. Conservative Christians often times refer to homosexuals as sexually depraved, mentally ill, and even compared them to pedophiles and bestiality enthusiasts. Liberals call conservatives "Fascists" and "Nazis". White supremacists see ethnic minorities as less than human, and it all goes back and forth in a vicious circle. I learned a long time ago that, for there to be in progress in human society; people need to

1. Stop hating. You don't have to love or like everyone, but there needs to be some degree of basic respect, and civility. That means you shouldn't kill anyone unless they're coming at you with a hunting knife or some other dire situation.

2. At least TRY to fathom why your opposition feels the way they do. I'm certain that Conservative Christians, for the most part, do not want to outlaw abortion just to give women a hard time, just as democrats do not want to allow some abortion just because they simply love killing fetuses. All competent people have some sort of logical critical thinking behind their actions.

3. Stop being selfish all the darn time. If you're a Christian or a Muslim or even a Krishna; it's fine that you want to convert people, but spiritual enlightenment is like sex. NO MEANS NO! And Tax payers. Tax payers want it all and they want it now. They want better schools for their children, more secure prisons, roads, highways, health care, hospitals, etc. But they get all pissed off when they are asked to chip in. Selfishness is a destroyer of humans.

Basically, my point is, use empathy in all you do. Nothing is ever achieved through mudslinging, muck raking, and shouting matches. I know I've sprinkled some politics in here, but that was only to illustrate my philosophy of civility and empathy.

Everybody knows the Question. Problem is, as always, what is the answer. And even if we try some remedies how long do you think can mankind survive? We as humans are designed to self-destruct. We are the diverse chemical composition of a ticking time bomb. The Virus of this Universe (as explained in The Matrix). At war within ourselves, within our societies, within our ecologies, within our nations and up against everything else.

It's not our basic instinct of survival that we fight in fear. It is natural to run away in fear. But, our finer instincts and intellect defines what we fight for. And, that is in turn defined by our greed and psyche(dopamine rush/trip addiction). "It's not my baser instincts that tell me to kill you. It's my finer ones you should watch out for." - just joking ironically.

The main crux is that even if you enforce perfect laws and behavior, How long is man going to keep up? I believe that humanity is designed to be self-destructive by nature in order to keep it in manageable size(considering a substitute for plagues and disasters now being utilized by Fate). So long mankind.

Because the Bible teaches very clear, no man can be save through relgions. Because, the "Word of God of the Bible", has nothing to do with his "Salvation" plan for mankind...

There's nothing like a lesson in primitive ethics to brighten one's day.

For the most part they're primitive, yes.

But most morals that have existed since the start of society as we know it still exist, they were just given sacred contexts with the Commandments, or are more obviously enforced as laws.

Bullies! Even small kids bully, its human nature and we all have to be taught empathy. If taught the wrong things even a small 3yr old can be a nasty piece of work.

I think people should be taught to start out just saying nothing, and just listen and learn.

That's how I grew up, empathy just kind of popped up as a result.

"Spiritual enlightenment is like sex. NO MEANS NO!" I love this line :P I think I want to make it a signature now...
But that is true though, if the person you are trying to convert shows no interest in doing so, pushing the subject will only make them increasingly hostile to you!
Back to the main point, people unfortunately get pretty disgusting when they want to try making a point. Especially once extremism sets in, the people who are more moderate will begin to question if they should even be associated with such a group who would spout so much negativity over the opposite side. I mean hell, though I consider myself a Christian in a pretty basic sense, I do not believe in the homophobic or sexist actions that are associated with the more stricter, fundamentalist groups. If someone doesn't believe in the practice of homosexuality or whatever, that's their own belief, but once they start pushing it onto others it crosses some serious lines.
And in general, selfishness always leads to some bad shit as it is XD
